June 21 - June 25
Well the last couple of weeks has been very much ruled by the world cup.
On Thursday night (22nd) we went to the Walkabout. I am sure that everyone has heard us refer to this pub one time or another, or at least heard about the pub itself. The Walkabout is a chain of Aussie pubs throughout the UK. So we watched the Australia v Croatia game there on the big screen, it was loud and messy but a great atmosphere. We wore the green and yellow beenies that Aunty Claire knitted us, they were very well received.
Victory was sweet especially at work the next day, many of the poms weren't so happy to find that Australia is good at another sport. Friday night we took Mark and Gordo to dinner at the Greek restaurant near us..... mmmmm mmmmm
On Saturday morning 24th we visited Nottinghill and Portobello Rd markets with Mark and Gordo. We rushed home as Gordo had an interview scheduled and spent the afternoon cleaning etc before spending a quiet night in watching movies.
Sunday: England v Ecuador. Dunc and Andy went with Geezer to watch the game at a local sports club. I stayed home to do my CV and apply for some jobs, but I beleive that i ended up asleep on the couch...... it really is the most comfortable couch :)
