Building a Great Experience . Making it Clean . Making it Work

We are a dynamic team of web developers with a common goal to transform business website development by promoting the concept of a “great customer experience”. Having come together as a result of complimenting talents, we soon discovered a common focus on the virtues of minimalism in web design and development.

Our Philosophy

The Good Customer Experience vs. The Bad Customer Experience
After many years of continued Internet growth and change the one remaining factor that determines the success and longevity of a business web site is the customer experience.

The last ten years have witnessed the World Wide Web becoming an increasingly complex tool demanding that users have access to faster connections, install more up-to-date browsers, install various browser plug-ins, and so on. In many cases new technology has pushed the Internet beyond the reach of some users who do not have the technical know-how to keep up. As a consequence of this, some websites are not viewable by all Internet users.

How many times has an Internet user given up waiting for a page to finish loading and quit out of a web site? How many times has a user given up trying to navigate their way through a web site to find some information? The answer is “too many times” for some sites to be regarded as genuinely accessible marketing tools. Too many web pages have become too large and slow to load, and too complex for the average user.

With the advent of broadband technology we have begun to solve the problem of large, slow-loading pages. Will broadband begin to see even larger web pages created for broadband users, creating a new precedent that will clutter faster connections with larger data? So too, web page complexity has created another barrier for some Internet users who feel intimidated by a morass of endless links, poor navigation, invasive adverts, “pop-up” windows and needless animations.

So what is the answer?
At Ihsen we are working hard to keep our web page designs simple, clean, open, intuitive, with easy navigation and fast loading even for slow connections providing accessibility to all Internet users. We believe that the most popular sites are not only those that provide the information users are looking for, but provide that information easily, fast and without interruption. The user must feel that they are in control of the site they are viewing, and so we aim to create web pages that have minimal complexity, and maximum useability.

Ultimately, our objective is for the user experience, to be the most useful experience. It is important here to differentiate between “usefulness” and “useability”. For example, we may develop a “useful” tool, but we will then create a “useable” interface for that tool. One must precede the other. If you have useability without a useful product, you really don't have much.

In short, we believe that to have a successful online presence, one must build a great customer experience.
